what type of Cis
Hi
tried to order a chip and pre muffler from 911 chips and SW said there is no chip because of the CIS and the premuffler is not for the 930, does any one know what type of CIS I have , its a 1987 930, also any performance exhaust upgrade recomendations ? I'm a new owner and love it |
Welcome! You will learn much here.
CIS is a type of mechanical fuel injection therefore no chip needed. The best bang for the buck for a stock engine is to replace the turbo and muffler. Lots of things you can do but that is the best place to start. Modern turbo will decrease lag tremendously and a free flowing muffler will let the power out while giving great sounds. |
Thanks Brian

Then add that bigger intercooler to cool down that new found air blowing through that new turbo!

Welcome Scott
You have come to the right place. Pay attention to these guys they know their stuff! without the Porsche snottiness found elsewhere. They are happy to take the time to help everyone. instead of directing you to the search button. The 930 is very responsive to simple bolt on mods. As stated above a free flowing muffler, k27 turbo or similar, maybe headers and a good intercooler will totally transform the car and will leave you with a bigggg grin the first time you tap into the boost. You can do quite a bit of this for around $5000. We do however like to see pics of the new rides. Enjoy! Eric |
