345-35-15 P-Zero's???

My new set of 345-35-15's just arrived to the house today... Holy Sh_ _ - - they're huge!!

Currently, I have 285-40-15's mounted on 11" wheels. Nobody makes/carries them anymore...

When I used this tire calculator: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/brochure/info/tmpInfoTireMath.jsp

I came up with +1/2" for Diameter and +2.25" for Width. The diff in diameter doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. But, the extra 2.36" width is beginning to scare me...

Anyone know if this tire will fit in a widebody, '79? I have 3pc BBS wheels that may have a spacer on them [I'll find out this weekend].

Thanks, Shannon

I am bummed out that 15 inch tires don't exist anymore in the big sizes.

Those Pirellis are definitely huge.

Rarlyl8 had them on his car which was a widebody done on an SC I think before he went full turbo. Ask him for details.

I worked at a friends shop when 26" wheels/tires came out in '03. I'm only 5'8" 165lbs. One stupid afternoon when we stopped staring and saying "o'h my god there rediculous" I crawled in one of the tires and rolled down a hill in our parking lot.... ah my twenties and stupidity.....

It's strange the Pirelli makes the 345 rear but not a comparable sized front to go with it. Yoko also supposedly makes one batch a year of the 285/40/15 but no comparable sized fronts.
Michelin apparently does one batch a year and most suppliers are out of stock. It also looks like Michelin will be raising the prices. I paid about $400 ea. 3 yrs ago for the 295/40/15's. They"re now about $550.00 ea. Even at these prices there seems to be a pretty strong market.

What other choice do you have? None, if you want to run those wheels.

We can mostly thank the Lamborghini Countach for keeping some in production still.

The Pirelli's are acually 3/4" more narrow than the old Yokohama's I ran. They will fit but you may need to move your oil lines and trim the alignment nuts.

Those tires are one of the reasons I had to buy my car
Even though the car was stripped of most body panels (salvage) when you looked at it from behind it was sitting on these monster tires
The gottis that came with the car have sinse been blacked out and I believe I have the last pair of yokomamas the tirerack had (my friend was trying to talk them down on price a few years ago and instead of dropping $ they gave him the last 2 sets for the price of 1)
If I ever try any drag stuff I think these would be the shizz- anyone?

Check the dates on the Yokos.

This guy is selling 9 & 13x15's bbs rims on the early S registry if someone is looking.

The only problem with buying those is that they are in Norway. Shipping would be a killer unless your in Europe.
