Damn, Tony, that's VERY clever.
Many thanks for posting! I don't have the 3.8 tail with the openings, but plan to route the turbo intakes up for cooler air. I just didn't like the idea of flexy hose expanding and contracting each time. Cheers - |

No that is a real 935 and a Andial customer motor from back in the day . They would never put the IC right over the top of the flat fan . Most of the engines had the IC toward the front of the car like in my K3 935 . (excuse the adj Motons... so what , I cheated)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...h_DSC00117.jpg A few were like my car including the Wayne Baker 934/935 that won the chapionship in 1983. Wayne explains this cofiguration here . He was running a single in GTO http://www.waynebakerracing.com/images/934Champion/a_934_Champion.htm Beautiful motor ! |
Johnathan - please tell me you're gonig to fit that motor in your car :)
Van - "so what...I cheated" hahahaha, wasn't that the premise behind the 935? Simply beautiful! |

Just found ot replacement cost over $10000 . Anybody interested is welcome to make a reasonable offer-I am listening. SOLD SOLD SOLD to soon reappear close by!! |
What size/type motor was it on prior? What was the designed output of the motor?
|
The were used with a 3.6 ---- 100mm pistons ,964 3.6 Crank, 3.2 case. Single turbo .Ran Motec and put out genuine big number ( very conservative dyno set up) Never more than 1.1 bar of boost.
Because of rules that the engine ran under(HP penalised) the focus was on torque- so it was set up that way. On the track it would beat CupCars , V-8's with alleged 650HP+ (I only mention that to make point about dyno numbers being questionable guide) It was very usable engine with no percievable lag. I also have to sell-- the Cams, Pauter Rods,100mm pistons -all from the same engines( also a new set of 993 TT pistons-Cosworth Blanks) |
PM Sent Red9.

so what would be the best way to mount the throttle bodies, directly to the intercooler or have intakes that collect for each of three throttle bodies. I have notched that PMO now offers mfi, does anyone know anything about it? When I use the ITB setup on the 993 motor which ignition system would be the best to use, had thought about the kit from patrick racing and clewett engineering. I would be trying to do away with all of the computer controlled part of the 993 setup if possible.

My set up shown in photos above has been sold. Expect to see it back near here soon!!
I think this is close to the ultimate best system. |

Van, do you posses any street legal turbo making less than 700hp that you could bring to NC for the summer mountain turbo run when Gabriel's car is done at Zuff? I know it would be tough for you to drive at legal speeds, but it would be for a good cause. ;) Barring that, you gonna be running any of your steeds at Monterey? |
