930 transmission saga

I posted this on the 911 side but you guys tend to have more knowledge..
After a track mishap I partially tore my transmission apart.. The problem was I tweaked the reverse gear shaft sleeve .
When put back together it grinds in all gears and neutral, the noise is coming from the front gear cluster. I've attached a pic..
So after buying a new reverse fork, I found that this was not the problem and am pretty sure it might be that the push rod that puts the reverse gear in place is out of place.. So here's my question.. what is the correct postion for the reverse gear and the push rod ( that would be the middle gear on the left in the pic and the rod that the fork is attached to on the bottom), for 1-4 and neutral , as well as in reverse?? Does that gear only engage when in reverse or is it engaged in all BUT the reverse gear?
Thanks

That gear is only engaged when in reverse- is it possible that the little fulcrum point where the arm is acting on got partially depressed in the accident?

Thanks Kris, That's why I'm trying to figure out the correct location for each of those for the respective gear they are in.. For instance the push rod that the fork is connected to ( on the bottom) was pushed way in.. so would never allow reverse to free wheel when not in gear..
