Post #7 of this thread is a "step by step" guide. If you can visualize, and then do, exactly what is described there, the spring sets-up with little to no effort.

I understand what you are going thru....I just did the same thing a week ago and wrestled with it for 3 days....I actually put it on 3 or 4 times and then removed it because it didn't make any sense on how it worked.

Help with this damn spring!

Check out my thread and see how I dealt with spring compression and installation. It went on easy when I got the spring compressed.

Keep trying you will get it.
