Frozen on wastegate
Are there any secrets to removing waste gate from exhuast ? No way to get a ratchet in there and all nuts seem rusted . I have been coating them with pb blaster and I guess a torch ( just for heat ) is next .
Thanks Steven

I assume you mean off the stock headers. With that here's my suggestion:
You can try Kroil better then PB. Can you get a nut splitter on there? Seems like I got a few this way... Grind the nuts off and replace the studs. Last resort. The studs are a pain to remove too! Another 'must' is to use a cut off wheel to grind as much of the metal gasket out as possible. I was replacing the headers anyways so I removed the wastegate with the stock headers. Lastly, GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hey Steven-
No suggestions for you beyond Bill's input. However, wanted to chime in - hey - you're literally miles up the road from me. Let me know if you'd like to gtg sometime and trade notes, etc. Always great to meet local enthusiasts. Good luck, patience and Kroil 'should' do it. |
