Another New Member, introduction
Great site, very happy to find it! Thought id do the right thing and introduce my self. My name is Robbie and im from the Land Down under, Australia!
I have owned my 3.0 1977 930 for the past 12 odd years and still enjoy the car very very much. Hear is a photo of the family collection. I love this photo, its quite rare to find them all in the one location. Im sure there was a motor magazine in the 70's which featured these cars in some sort of dual against each other. Cheershttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241670424.jpg |
Not a bad collection... three of the coolest supercars ever made. The sound of those 12 cylinders must make it a very hard decision on what to drive every morning. You do drive one to work every day, right?;)

what a nice collection you have there!
Looking at this pic makes you think you are back in the good old 80s http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/dazzler1.gif Welcome to the board!SmileWavy |
I think this is taking the "new member must post pix" thing a little too far :D
Three of my all time favorites, very nice!!! |
We are all showing our age. Those cars were "the bomb" way before those words ever came together to mean something good.
Welcome! |
Well gOLLLLLy!
That's such an awesome shot. I esp. love the angle over the LP5000. And great color on the BB! Is the Couny purple or is that just the light? Welcome! Feel free to post as mannnny pics of any those 3 as you feel fit. I for one won't tire of seeing them. Glad you found us - 12yrs, that's great! Seems a number of early cars are cropping up Down Under lately, way cool. Rod, did the Couny run or just 'show up' (I *hate* it when chooches do 'that', happens here alot). Love to hear your thoughts on it running, there's a sight I simply CANNOT picture. I'm betting on the chooch angle tho, doubt he ran it - my gut 8-). |
Welcome
930turb0,
It is nice to see someone introduce themselves and actually add a photo at the same time. I always have to look down about 2 pages of posts to find where they finally added their car(s). Great having you on the forum. Thanks for the intro. Bryan |

I can answer for Rod as we were both there. He ran the Countach. It was actually some anniversary edition with 500 hp. Nice looking. The guy took off the cowboy boots and put on some racing shoes and went to town on the track. Not bad at all.

Yes, our family is very close and we all get to share the cars and enjoy them in any given way. Thankfully we don't get to share the maintenance costs, the Italian counterparts just don't seem to be as easy to maintain! They are all so very different to drive. They all have something special about them in a unique way. The 365BB: Extremely torquey machine, it seems to produce power regardless of what gear your in or RPM. Its very light in the front end especially at high speeds. Those 12 pots and 4 triple down draft Webber's bring a new meaning to the word music at 7000 rpm. I very much love the way the car peels open. The whole front lifts in a forward direction and the whole rear lifts back wards. Almost a le-mans look with engine and front exposed. The LP5000: Awesome. Just lifting the doors vertical is enough to excite me. Once you figure out how to get in the car and overcome the radical windscreen rake shooting at your face and lack of oxygen in the cabin (due to the door glass only drops 4inches or so) its a pleasure to drive. Who needs air when your driving a countach!! Feels very solid on the road, plenty of power but more setup for top end speed than acceleration. No need to mention what the 3.0 930 is like. I'm sure you guys know very well. Glad to find on hear other 3.0 turbo owners. Until now its been quite a lonely experience having one of these so called mythic 930's. |
[QUOTE=krasuskyp;4650007]Well gOLLLLLy!
That's such an awesome shot. I esp. love the angle over the LP5000. And great color on the BB! Is the Couny purple or is that just the light? The Couny is a Dark blue colour. It does have a purple tinge to it in certain light your right! Im approx 6ft tall and the couny's roof hight meets directly with my belly button when i stand next to it! |
I am depply deeply jealous (in a good way!!). You have THE best cars money could have bought in the '80s and even today. The only car missing is an Aston MArtin V8 Vantage...when I get home tonight I have an awesome picture to scan for you from my 1000+ car magazine collection...you'll love it. If I had my choice the Lambo please..!
