I know they are kind of hard to see but the rubber hoses are already there to protect the lines.
I thought about using the heat on that one tube to help protect it since it will be more susceptible to things. I will see where the oil temps get to and then decide. I most likely will not be tracking the car so it should be ok. Thanks for the tips. Bryan |

I saw the hose wrapped around the braided lines, but was thinking more in terms of a home made grommet.

Updates
Well,
As of today with Cl8ton's (Rod) help I was able to mock fit the finished product. It looks good. I had to adjust the oil lines off the cooler to accommodate the fog lights. I have included some pictures of how I ended up mounting them. It may not be the best idea but they are solid. I want to run a protective coating on once of lines and finish restoring my headlight washer system prior to me mounting everything but I'm guessing it should be done this week. Lastly, I chose to use foam (from Lowe's) between the splitter/spoiler and spoiler/bumper to help reduce vibration and to spread the load over a greater area. I included a picture of the foam on the splitter prior to mating the two together. I hope you enjoy the pics, Bryan ![]() ![]() Rod had a cameo in this one and didn't even know it. ![]() ![]() ![]() All finished and ready to show her off. I ended up making a "swirl" pattern on the aluminum due to the fact there was some defects in the surface. I put a wire bit on the end of a drill and made then pattern that way. It looks a lot like when people do it to Stainless Steel. I think it turned out OK.

looks good.
How did you cut the aluminum splitter to shape? That looks like a thick piece. I would have still run the oil lines to the front cooler in reverse. The oil system is not really a sealed system like the water in a water cooled car. The oil sump and engine block all get air flowing thru them from the outside atmosphere which mixes with the oil getting sloshed around inside them. This creates foaming of the oil and the air bubbles need to get out somewhere and eventually may start collecting in the upper sections of the oil cooler. Since you have no vents on the cooler, I just thought it might be beneficial to have the return line on the top of the cooler to help remove the air that collects there. In theory, you could form an air pocket in the front valence cooler that would continue to grow from the upper line connection and fill the entire cooler with air until it reached the level of the return line on the bottom of the cooler. Chances of this worst case happening, I don;t know but thats my engineering/reasoning. Does anyone else agree or can explain otherwise? Lets see photos of it mounted when done. The paint looks very good.

Looks great Bryan. How have your oil tempsbeen affected? My cooler is still sitting on the kitchen counter. So are the twin plug heads from 2006. And the ported intake from 2007.... Nice work

It really does look awesome!
Have you considered some time of mesh to protect the oil cooler from stones and debris? It does look pretty cool to be able to see the cooler though. |

Slyguy, Thanks for the comments. The cooler works great. I have not really been able to drive it much but slow drives around town and it will not even get to operating temp. Get working on those project will yah??
nocarrier, Believe it or not there is a mesh grill there. It is almost touching the cooler and was also painted black. I should be ok. I agree with you I like being able to see the cooler a bit. Thanks for the kind words. Bryan |

Cool project and super well done! The splitter looks great. Be interested to hear more in the future on how it performs!

IMO if you lower the car some it would look more agressive. |
