Turbo guys need your help....Guidance needed ...

A local Porsche master mechanic adjusted the valves on my '91 C2 Turbo in his own shop few months ago.I have since put only 1000 to 1500 miles on the car ...
I think the mechanic might not have adjusted the driver side valves. The reason i say that is,
1)-It seems like the exhaust and the turbo housing (WG) was never removed.
2)-I also noticed the passenger side valve cover has new bolts and the driver side does not  ?
3)-The receipts shows only one valve cover gas-kit ?
4)- A/C quit working as it now has a freon leak ..

So here are my questions..

a)- Are valves present on both sides of the engine and how do i confirm whether he has actually changed them or not ?
b)-I need a shop recommendation in or around Louisville,KY where i can take the car to have the valves adjusted and the A/C looked at ?

Thanks..

My recommendation is Tony Proasi at http://www.stuttgartspecialists.com. If this was his shop that did teh work, I'd let him know. I'd be shocked if it was. I never owned a P Car when in Louisville, but have talked to Tony numerous times.

Why don't you ask the mechanic and see what he says about your observations? I agree that you may have reason to doubt him, but at least see what his reaction is like when you ask and so he knows you are no dummie too. Maybe there is an expanation that restores your trust.....everyone deserves benefit of the doubt in my book.

Hey Yasir,
Tony is a good guy but don't overlook Wicky Lawrie down just north of Nashville.

Excuse me for jumping in but, I'm looking for a good independent Porsche shop here in the Nashville area.. Ive got a 1986 911 (930) turbo that needs an A/C check up... Believe it or not, I"ve got a red with Tan with about 12000 miles. (don't ask way to long an answer) bought it new in 86 in So. Cal. Were new to the Area and have had the car at Nashville Porsche for some work but I thought I could find a good local independent that knows his cars and is fair and honest!

So, any input is appreciated..

Thanks..

The valve clearances need to be checked. There are 4 covers on the engine and yes, all 4 need to be removed to do them all.

The only way you can tell is to see if they have not been disturbed if they are dirty.

I'm always present when I have work like this done.
