Modifying engine shroud...
Some can call me cheap but i don't care...
I am trying to block off the oil cooler air duct as I am going with an oil filter on the back side of my motor and ultimately smooth out the airflow between the cylinders. Now my question is about the "cone tit" on the back of the alternator, do I keep those or do I do away with them? To me they look like they try to even out the air-flow that is robbed by the ducting for the oil cooler so I dont know what to do with them. Hopefully someone who has experience with the really old cars that have no coolers can chime in. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1244905285.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1244905305.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1244905500.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1244905518.jpg |
Kris:
I don't have experience with this specific application but I know a bit about duct fan design which this one is. Axial type fans in a duct need the inlet flow nozzle and aftebody for best performance. You should keep the afte body. Also if it were me I'd eliminate the twin blades on the left side. |
Nice work, cheapskate!
You DID remember to use hardener this time, right? ;) |
