3,069 mile trip in the 930

Just returned from a 3,069 mile trip in the 930. Ran perfect, averaged 19.5 mpg, and that was with a bike on top. Chas SC > Maine > Vermont > Chas.

Going up thru PA on I-81

Heading south to home on 9N in NY, Lake George with Adirondack's in the BG.

My wife and I, 9N again with Lake G. and the Adirondacks.

Good man, i did a 1400 mile round trip to Verbier earlier in the year with a roof box, shocking MPG, we didn't go much below 140mph and managed a top speed (before we ran out of nerve) of 167mph, averaged about 12mpg ha ha

Obviously went slow through towns and such, 90% of the journey is autoroute and they are deserted, pedal to the metal.... SO much fun

Dam- foreigners have all the fun. If they keep rubbing it in we may have to send Ovomit over there so he can put them in electric clown cars.

You can see i modified the rails to lift the back of the box up, it was really stable actually, lots of wind noise though! There was a fantastic stretch on the return leg where we were wheel to wheel with a 360, he was up for some fun, he would pull along side and give me the thumb's up, then gun it, i did the same and every time pulled away from him. I bet he went back to the dealership and threw his keys at them "A bloody 20 year old clapped out Porsche WITH A ROOF BOX has been making me look stupid, there is something wrong with my car!"

Glad you made it back! Sounds like an awesome trip.

Did you take I95 at all or did you manage to avoid it?

Hi Craig,

Going up, I took I-95 to Richmond, then west on 64 to 81, then 81 up into PA, 84 west back over to 95, then on to ME.

Coming back from Vermont, we took 9N south into Albany, then 87 south to 84, 84 west to 81, then 81 south to 77, to 26.

81 is amazing, so much better than 95, and no loss in time going up or back on 81, as you miss all of the Washington - Balt - Philly - NY traffic.

So far, I've driven the 930 thru 18 states!
