just replaced the dump-valve gaskets and think I have a problem
Hi just replaced The 2 dump-valve gaskets and have a question for a part
the neck if the cover was glued on is this normal?it there were to have a leak what would be the symptoms? Thankshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1249827258.jpg PS: found the pic on the board |
I believe those pipes are simply press/interference fit into the housings, correct? Mine is glued in place as well (JB Weld). I imagine that this is a common practice as that "press fit" probably loosens considerably after twenty-thirty odd years of heat, vibration, etc . . .
Not sure about "leak symptoms" . . . am also very interested to hear about this. Ron |
where does the tube from there go? is the sealing really important?
thanks |
That pipe is important. Pipe is used to pull the piston during throttle lift-off. If leaking, you will get bad idle, bad emissions and dump valve might not work as expected. So if it's loose, it should be either welded or JB-welded back in place w/o leaks.

Same for the one on the intake manifold. They get capped off if you change to a long neck intercooler and C2 blow off valve and the other one next to it on the intake manifold also gets capped off if you remove the deceleration vacuum limiter valve. |
