Mixture screwup

I totally screwed my mixture adjustment on a 86 930. The car ran fine before my fiddling. I have adjusted the mixture before with no problems. I installed a new air
filter that obstructed the mixture control mechanism. I guess I must have
adjusted it way out of whack. I have made adjustments all over the board and still can't get it to idle properly. It now has no power. I changed nothing else.
Has to be the mixture adjustment I screwed up. Is there a way to do an initial
setting that will get me close so I can fine tune it from there?

Humm...seems a little strange since that mixture adjustment screw, really only effects idle mixture/idle CO. Are you sure you didn't bump a vacuum line or something while you were in there? That adjustment is very sensitive, a 1/10th of a turn is a big adjustment.

Suspect you took the ingercooler off to do it.

Check the intercooler to maniflod seal.

I will offer this: Replacing the seals on the boost recirculation valve assembly is pretty straightforward and should not cause running problems afterwords. Removing all the crap to do the job, though, can cause problems if the intercooler O rings/hose to the AAR/hose to the WG don't set properly when reinstalling the IC.

If she runs bad after the seal operation, do not mess with the mixture screw until you've satisfied yourself that all seals are sealing. If in doubt, spray carb cleaner around the seals and listen for engine rpm changes indicating a leak.
