Good to 'meet' you citrus (grrr sreen names heh heh).

11hr it is not. Nor 600mi. Mebbe via 95 but that just suuuuuuux. Via 81 is more like 750-780IIRC, we broke it into an overnight each way for a few hours shuteye but even so it was more like 14hrs.

wtih no a/c

in NC's finest June lurid heat

not going ludicrous speed but not ahem commuteresque (note return trip)

and it's a HAUL

but

it's sobeyond worthit

Todd came from Vegas in his - can't refute that. And when all else fails you can set your timing @ midnight in the rest area:

just beware! do *not* let this happen to *you*:

Slaab? Better be that 9-7-xyzabc123 thing. Regardless... drive it and become 1 with yer machine. Trailer queens these things are not, beat it like a redheaded stepchild...

now...

AGREED... TPIWWP!!! Let's see that gold beaut - sounds yummy!

No way U-Haul is going to let you tow the trailer and car with a Saab! They wouldn't let you tow it empty with a Saab...

I love the responses you guys are correct U haul says their trailer does not have enough clearance for the car to drive up on nor does the saab weight comply. I know you guys are really going to rag on me but another friend of mine has a horse trailer & a pickup. :-) I'm going to look into this option.

by the way, love the pictures of the blue & red turbo together. must be great to see a bunch of them together.

I used to use a U-haul for my car before buying my own when tracking it. It can be done, but it depends in what you've done to it (lowered or front air dam). You may have to lay down a 2x board to raise it above the inner rails and/or use longer ramps to get on the trailer.

Miguel - just redeployed to Afghanistan with a different contractor so sadly I won't be able to make it, neither will the Blackbird - but I do have to say that come spring time, a new bird will be born - a new chassis is in the works for our run in Europe. Next time you hear my deafening motor it will be attached to a partial tube frame K3.

I wish you all the best and of course, I will be there in spirit rock on brothers.

Citrus-

Srsly - skip the trailer and rock the 930. 2300mi or so round trip for tP1. Tx on that pic, I too enjoy the colors / lighting in that one. Many dig this one as well:

gooooooood tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimes

!!!

Justin... na mon... no way to finagle unfort - reality being the biatch it is and all.

and

I just surfed the 1st page of your TargaSaga... lions and tigers and bears - OH MY! NOICE! 'Ring laps ruuuuuule and are hereby indelibly tatoo'd upon yer psyche - embrace it! What an incredible / epic / biblical adventure you have embarked upon. Looking forward to surfing pages 2 & 3 heh heh.

now

moi? Let you live down the flat? Silly fewl... why would I do THAT???

lastly

I trust your car is outfitted w/ the DOT mandated 'verbiage' in the passenger mirror? If not, beware:

Maybe it is a Saab SUV/Envoy. Either way, you need to make it, my car is sadly back in NC and I doubt it will be ready but maybe I will come down and bum a ride.

Been meaning to ask you, amigo... why not the Turbo? I know she's a lot louder but surely slapping on a new exhaust would be cheaper than building a new car? You can't go wrong with either, but it seems you have a perfect candidate for this trip in your ridiculously cool Turbo.

Your SC is bad ass as well so there's nothing wrong with having both and perhaps that's the point. (I love the CCW's on the back of the SC. Like you said, it looks like a modern Minilite.) Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere and I missed it but in my mind I'd think I'd be happier in the Turbo. That said, I'd be thrilled to replicate your experience in a hoopty so we're talking "relative happiness" at this point.

Epic journey you're taking over there, great blog and thanks for sharing. I'm enjoying each update along with everyone else!

Cheers.
