Ouch!
Jon, I feel your pain. I was in your position from July '08 until Feb '09. I was one day from listing my 965 when the phone rang.
I am so sorry.

Mark

I hate to hear that... you know you'll regret it shortly after sale, but you got to do what you got to do. Sorry.

Someone posted the link to the car in his thread, http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/964-turbo-forum/526971-looking-for-964t-965-a.html. Matt is a user here as well, http://forums.pelicanparts.com/members/48974.html.

Man, I'd love to help....while my 86 "looks" like your car, I'd love to be able to own the real thing. Had to say something after seeing the empathy the people on this board expressed...you guys humble me. Best of luck on the sale..."this too shall pass"....

You guys are awesome, thanks for the love.
It's one thing to sell a car you've washed and waxed. It's another thing to SHORT-SELL a car you hand-torqued the rod bolts on, and still have aluminum dust in your lungs from the porting work.

Selling in this economy sux. Selling a car you built in this economy really sux. The sunny side is that you have something of significant value that you can sell. You have the skills to build another car when this mess is over so keep the dream alive and make your "what I would do different next time" list!

What are you waiting for? ". . .I want this car, have ability to do so quickly."
The owner/builder published the in-process detail of his work on this forum.
There was never an indication his intent was to build and sell. It seemed to be a sharing of enthusiasm, pride of work and ownership.
Buy it before he either changes his mind or has a reversal of fortune.

that is a nice looking car...and wow, what a steal!!!!! btw, this transaction should not be used to reflect the market. i suspect if sold in a less urgent fashion, it is a $40k car all day long.

good luck to the op, i hope things work out for you and if you ever miss your turbo and are in the charlotte, nc area...you are welcome to drive mine!

best,

pcb

Brian, and 36-930, thank you for the creds. If you read my build thread I was very candid, disclosing both my successes and my failures. I appreciate the vouch!
FerrariPete, if I didn't HAVE to sell this car $40k wouldn't even turn my head. But that's MY personal value of this car.
