Video of a N GA mountain drive

This video was taken from the dash of my nephew's Subaru something (you'll hear the BOV) while I took him for a tour of hwy 180 in the N GA mountains.

Awesome vid Don…looks just like a drive up to Yosemite Valley from Fresno!
Don’t you just love white vans that are clueless on mountain roads?

Here's the second part of the same drive, on hwy 60, south of Suches.

Brian - here's where we can test those headers for real performance....

How old is your nephew? He did not put a wheel wrong that whole drive.

What pace were you driving at? Do you think you could pull a gap on the Subi?

Nice drive Don!
Looks a lot like the roads we have around here as well. I absolutely love living down here, great weather and great driving!
I'm having a lot of obstacles getting my car back on the road but would love to run that route when she is whole again. Our cars are nearly twins in appearance which would look pretty wild running the hills.

You guys would hate south florida.. the roads are flat, extremely boring, and loaded with ____ traffic.
sometimes i wonder why i have a sports car down here.

..at least there are some curves on the beach.

Ya, he did a great job of keeping up and in his lane, but we really didn't go that fast. The whole idea was to enjoy the drive - his first mountain drive since he is from Orlando.

We didn't go that fast - 2nd gear on the super twists and 2nd and 3rd on the last video. It wouldn't have been fun for either of us if I would have been aggressive and would have had to wait on him every couple of miles. His Subaru is a 2.0L turbo with a 5 sp and Walmart tires, so it would not have meant much to smoke him. If you watch for my brake lights, you'll see I didn't use them much.

As JFairman said, living in FL doesn't offer this kind of driving, so my 21 yr old nephew talked about it for months.

This is the type video I am always hoping shows up on youtube, 930s are seriously under-represented on youtube.

We need more cool vids like this!

Nice video. That's the kind of driving our cars are meant for. I can tell you guys are not flying. Just cruising at a good clip. Fun.

Great reminder for many just where these cars are at home...in the twisties.
I know those roads well..used to live Just outside Blairsville. I still go over there every few months. Next time your there, try Richard Russell to Helen then take Hwy 356 from Helen to Batesville then left on SR 197 to Hwy 76, right to Clayton. Straight shot back down 441 to Brooks.
There are so many great roads up here, it's hard to choose.

Nice vid Don.. Don't know if you remember. A few years back I joined You, Dave of C2turbo, Larry Hayes, Todd Stegall and a dude in a black Z06. I had the black 930 and Dave had just finished his C2 twin turbo. I still have the photos from that Sunday drive. What a blast.
