Blowing off intercooler hoses on 7000 RPM shift question

Ran the Texas Mile last weekend. Blew off intercooler hose on 7000 RPM shifts - 4of 6 laps. Sometimes in hose, sometimes out hose. Only way to get down the course was to short shift at 4000 RPM.

My guess is diverter valve but I do not have enough knowledge to be convinced. Apprecuiate any and all input/suggestions.

Do you have any beads on the intercooler and pipes? What type of hose clamps are you using? Don't know if this problem would be related to a diverter valve.

If your diverter valve dose not vent properly, you will see a very high pressure spike between the compressor and throttle plate beteen shifts.

You would also run the risk of damaging the turbo. You can even shear the turbo shaft in some cases.

Do you still have the throttle bypass valve installed? This should bypass some pressure around the throttle plate.

Really stupid question: Have your IC mounts loosened up, or your muffler and/or turbo mount? May just be flexing/moving so much that it pulls the pipes/hoses off. Especially an issue with the aluminum in pipe and O rings. Move any more than a half an inch and you lose the seal.

7000 RPM shifts?

4000 RPM short shifts?

Just for discussion sake, how much power/RPM do you have AFTER a 7000 RPM shift?

Redline?

Again, the purpose of the deverter and the throtle bypass to a lesser degree is to vent pressure between shifts and on throttle lift.

With the aftermarket bypass's you typically hear a faint "woosh" sound with the valve working correctly. No woosh, no workie!

Also, if with a quick shift you do not come instantly back to full boost the valve is not working. If it is not back to full boost instanly and it takes a sececond to build boost back up from say .5 bar between shifts it is not working properly.

If you are running a C2 turbo black plastic Bosch bypass, they often fail.

On my car I had no loss of boost with sport style shifts once my system was dialed in.
