Must admit, we're lucky with the Vmax events, get some lovely cars there and most owners are cool with giving passenger runs.... Also got a few runs in the new McLaren, 599 GTO and the new FF, all very cool cars, but i'm still in love with the old school motors!!

Sorry to hear of your car trouble, hope it's an easy fix.... I didn't get to run my car in the day, it's now run in and heads have been torqued again, valve clearances checked, oil and filters changed etc. But it threw an error code saying the fueling was lean, so I didn't risk any runs at all.
Will be checking through the fuel system to see where the error is, could just be the back pump is not working, hoping it's nice and simple, but knowing my luck I'll need to go deeper..... One thing is for sure, I'll be making sure it's right before I tackle any high speed runs!!

Well, i never thought i'd say this, but thinking of letting the car go.....
Haven't put it on the market yet, but i want to move on, and now it's effectively new i think it's the right time to do it, as it gives peace of mind to the next guy/girl.
I'll no doubt be in tears when i see it go, but i've had the car since 1999, and i've gone as far as i can with it, bar doing the interior but that's a simple job for the next owner, and they can personalise it the way they want......

Edit: Oh and the lean condition was a dodgy oxygen sensor, so it wasn't actually lean at all, just a dodgy reading.....

I think u r nuts! U spent so much time & gelt. I say park it for awhile and regroup. If u want best bang for the buck I would lean toward 996tt. Great power to be made with the mezger engine w/out braking the bank.

I sold my '88 930 with stunt double 993tt engine a few months ago. Too many back surgeries for the 4 speed, and driving it wasn't fun, or even tolerable anymore.
Now someone else can have a car they're really excited about.
That's what it's supposed to be.

Nice car, everything you said it was - is. I have had similar power with 5spd turbo's, the 4 speed is fine with that much power/torque.

Walt, it isn't more power that i'm after, my car is is quick as it ever needs to be, effectively Enzo performance apart from top speed..... I just want to move on.
Vas, i'll always check up on here, this is the best car i have ever owned, and probably the best i'll ever own, i guess it's like relationships, you go through phases when you're not in love anymore, that's where i am. If i had the money to moth ball it and buy something else for a while i probably would..... I've thought long and hard about it and i'm going to sell it, i won't give it away though!!

Dude.

I still think u r nuts! U went thru to much hell and back to get what u wanted... Hmm, now u r bored?... U got the a great boob job...Now u want more...

I think u should go to another level outside your zone. Experience newer and least resistance...Go modern and to the dark side... Things will move in milliseconds and will put that smile back on your face.

At some point, the fear of your car breaking every time you get in it for a road trip, or jump on it on the track, kinda takes all the fun out of it. No matter how much love and $$ you've chucked at it. Kinda like a super hot but needy girlfriend; the experience still gets old. Sounds like you may be there Jon, but even if not, thanks for the memories and the sharing.
