Uninvited Guest Crashes Porsche Party

My partner had his annual "TubberFest" for the 356 Tubs Car Club out of Nashville today.
In the process of lining up the cars he took his MFI '73 911 around the block to warm it up. An uninvited quest followed him back.

OOPS! The cop was probably just a 911 fan.

I got pulled over years ago while driving my 3000GT turbo by a cop that had seen me many times on the way to work (and noticed that I had yet to change my license over to Washington State after moving here from Illinois...although I was still legal for 30 days more). He just wanted me to know that he was watching, and all he could say repeatedly was how he really liked my car.

This fellow got a lot more than he bargained for.
My partner had gone around the block and was almost home when he came around a curve to see the cop sitting at a local sports stadium. The cop pulled out and hit the lights right before the turnoff into the festivities area.
He did not know we were having an event.
My buddy pulls in with cop in tow, lights flashing and siren popping. He didn't stop but rather backed into his spot (which is the picture you see). The cop hit the loud speaker telling him to stop and then got out and started the arm flailing. Then the spectators came up ...

Luck was with him, the cop did not get a fix on the radar. He sure took a ribbing for the rest of the day! Ha!
Look for many pictures in the Tennessee Tubs newsletter and possibly Pano.

Brian - don't want to steal your thread but how are those headers with heat coming, can we get some for this cold season? The wifey liked the sound of the muffler and pipe so I'm taking that as a go-ahead on the headers, she's skinny and from S. America and needs the heat, I'm fat and from Canada so it makes no diff. to me I just need a set.

Scott, I'm skinny and need heat too!
I just dropped my engine for the 3rd time chasing down tranny and engine problems. REALLY screwing up my schedule! I had planned a dyno run a month ago and still no functioning car.
I think I have found the engine problem and pray the tranny problem is gone after a partial tear down. So with any luck I'll be back on the exchangers next week.

He did not appear amused but did lighten up toward the end when invited to join us for a brat.

You're not gonna outrun much in a '73MFI 911, especially when turning down your own dead end access road, ha!
It all turned out well but I'm sure the outcome would have been different had the event not been going on.

I use to have a '73MFI 911. Twisties are a riot but the straights, not so much.
