Price Check on Aisle 930. . .
considering selling my 1983 930 get a targa to buzz around in for a while, I know this economy still sucks and not an ideal seller market and prices all over the map, with that said good cars will sell. My turbo has 93K on the clock, 7K on a fresh motor, all new Bilstein's, larger torsion bars, front mounted oil cooler, K27-7200, euro exhaust, Monty dual out muffler, Monty dump pipe, all new ignition system and recently had all injectors cleaned, only run Brad Penn and Swepco, etc., etc., cosmetically it's a 7 or so out of 10 given typical rock chips on the nose and a few minor dings here and there, it's a solid 10 mechanically, really an ideal driver and not a concourse car by any means, was thinking $27K but in this market may be a bit high, any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi I am interested in your 930. Would you consider a targa in partial trade?
What color is it (not sure if it is a metallic or not)? More pics of interior and engine please. Thanks!

I think Porsche prices are rising as the economy gets better. 1 year ago you could find lots of 993s in the very, very low $20s. Now, that is hard to find. I think the same goes for the 930 and 964 turbo markets.

There is a 993 Cab locally for $17K which I think is a steal, so it hasn't turned around just yet.

i searched 6 months for a decent 993 coupe. Basically from Feb till Aug when I found my 930. Only saw 1 993 for under $30k and 930's were all in the mid to high $20K's

I'm assuming you purchased in this mid to hi 20's range. where the cars you were looking at local florida cars? Have you been satisfied with the car that you purchased...did you have repairs after the purchase? I appreciate any answers you are willing to share. |

hahaha, A930 hit it on the head
well, i was looking within a radius of 1500 miles from me. Pretty much found nothing close except this one white 87 930 a few hours north of me. He was asking $29K but I just wasn't interested in spending that kind of money at that time. Well, a few more months went by with no luck finding a decently priced 993 so i started getting the turbo itch again. Tried to find the 87 but it was off the market then one night I get an email from autotrader (i had them alert me when a 911 was listed) about an '86 930. I called the guy the very next morning, along with 3 other people, and made an appointment to see it. It was at $22.8K, not a perfect car but then i wanted a driver not a show car and the guy said the paint was pretty bad and we negotiated down to $20K. I gave him deposit money pending a PPI and he decided to have the car detailed before me picking it up. The paint ended up coming around quite nicely to our surprise. The car did need some things addressed: like ripping out all the CIS, CDI and emisions crap, adding EFI and crank trigger ignition, putting in a better clutch and building a new intercooler.
