Steve,

It's in work. I have to get my web designer engaged though and that is a somewhat time consuming process. I'm not paying for his services so I can't push the guy too hard. Right now I'm flat on my back. I hurt it Sunday moving stuff around in the garage so I have been living on Pelican collecting more ideas...

Check the video out though you will enjoy it....

Slantnose Steve 12-02-2009 02:43 PM

OUCH!:(
Hope you get healed up soon!
I'll check out the vid...

About this time last year, a guy brought his white 77 turbo targa to my house to learn how to change the oil. I've never seen a 77 turbo targa, so I said bring it over and lets take a look. It ended up being a turbo look (aftermarket too with a poor paint job) leaking targa with a genuine turbo moniker attached to an aftermarket fiberglass whale tail. I did not have the courage to ask how much he paid for his new toy after I explained what he really had. Sorry, but he asked me where the turbo was and at that time, I HAD to tell him what he had.

Funny but about 6 months ago I was in Michigan driving back from dinner to my hotel and there was a 911 on the side of road. I stopped to help him. I had to break the news to him that it wasn't a turbo and the problem that caused it to stop was the dreaded DME relay...
It's amazing what people buy without having a clue.

SCHNELE 12-03-2009 11:34 AM

I almost fell out of my chair when he pulled up the lid, WOW as a new car dealer I am glad to say I have never had that particular vintage of sheer stupidity.

LOWFAT 12-03-2009 11:57 AM

I just spit my drink out I was laughing so hard when he popped the deck lid. How do people make it sometimes ? I couldn't even imagine not doing your research on the vehicle's you are planning to buy or sell , especially when it is your business to know. I mean at least know what the obvious things are to look for. I may take him a kit car Lambo and sell it to him for some quick cash , Hmmm what was that address again???? Dizam!

SCHNELE 12-03-2009 12:27 PM

The best and funniest part is that the camera tightens up on the decklid and it opens as if with great deliberation to reveal a normally aspirated motor. What the hell...

And wasn't his last piece of advise to "go through a reputable dealer"? To think he had the nerve to post this on YouTube for the world to see. Guaranteed to improve his used car sales. I wouldn't buy a Poarsh from him.

WERK I 12-04-2009 08:23 AM

did you see those puny rotors on that car? They didn't even look like 3.2 Carrera rotors. May 70's era? Maybe we should "edit" the video and entitle it; "How to spot a phony 930 slantnose."

gsmith660 12-04-2009 09:25 AM

That guy is an idiot he needs to work for Victory!

Chuck Jones 12-04-2009 02:38 PM

It's really kind of hard to miss the intercooler on a turbo (called a clue)....I mean it's not exactly a discreet part that hides behind the intake somewhere. He also said....If you're going to spend $45K on a car.....wonder if he meant that slantnose turbo?? I wonder what the rest of that conversion looked like.

pavulon 12-04-2009 02:46 PM

Can't trust any guy that has so many shirt buttons open...

MikeD930 12-04-2009 04:23 PM

Since I don't understand a word that guy was saying since I'm hard of hearing. Anyhow, that's really lame if he expected one to believe that his car is a turbo and more so if he think his is! Maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt since he may be familar with a 997 turbo that does not have its intercoolers mounted on top like ours. On a second thought, nope...no excuse!

xbmwguy 12-04-2009 05:02 PM

oh **it, turns out this idiot has opened up right down the street from my old shop here in west palm. what do ya think should i act real interested, go down there and then ask how big is the turbo and where exactly is it. hell i want to take it around the block and feel the boost!!!!

Tug68 12-04-2009 05:37 PM

Do it and put it on youtube!!!!
