key and pictures 0f my 89 930

To fellow 930 enthusiasts,

Here a picture of my 930 in action at a racetrack in the former U.S. Naval Base in Subic. The other picture was taken before the start of the hill climb event in Subic.
I would like to ask for your help as to how to replace the battery in the key head.Im having difficulty inserting the key in the ignition during the night time. What kind of battery does it use ,and how do you access the battery in the key head.Im sure the bulb is ok because when i press the key button therte is intermittent faint light.

thanks in advance,

You may want to try this mod it works great and is a definite upgrade.

Rennbay.com :

As far as opening the key up goes, ifyou look carefully you can see a section along the seam that has a little indent. Stick a fine knife edge in there and twist. It just pops open.
