RS3.0 imitated 930
I am pretty new into turbocharged 911, so like to share pics of new toy.
I got this car some year ago and have been done some modification to make it a bit like 3.0RS. I did not like RUF front bumper bar & big wing, this was car year ago. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Added oil cooler in the front. Also got two Yamaha R6 fans what are small enough to fit behind the cooler.

"Poor man's sport muffler"
Did simply muffler modification. - opened muffler (if I knew how it looks inside, you do not need to open other area except "new Y-tube") - cut restrictive part out (point where single inlet transforms to two smaller pipes) - installed Y-pipe (ordinary extension to modify exit) - removed twin exit and installed bigger single tube This resulted nice sound muffler, I have no clue if it helps in power gain. But cost me some $30 to do ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I liked to have "old school" wing, so I got early turbo wing.
Early wing is not flat on top and does not have room for intercooler, solution; - took "grill" from late Carrera wing - made "bum" beneath wing to have room for stock intercooler Wing modification on the way: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wing start to see shape; ![]() Also RUF rear bumper was in need of modification: - block right side exhaust exit - remove reflectors ![]()

So far I plan to enjoy driving and the following things will be on the list.
- Early "square" steel mirrors (sourced) - Turbo 16" Fuchs wheels (sourced), painted like this ![]() Engine mods, once time allows: - 993 headers, has anyone used them in 930? (sourced) ![]() - new intercooler, I have weird idea to use 2x Skyline R34 stock coolers and will mate them together. Cooler is not really bigger than stock 930, possible a bit thicker but they are good design and two of them would do a trick I guess. (2x coolers sourced) ![]() - Carrera 3.2 throttle body and air intake (sourced). Sorry about hijacked pic. ![]() - new turbocharger. So far I am not sure what to use. - new engine management. As well, no plans yet. - +bits & pieces I may not open engine (except modify heads to mate intake) unless that is really necessary to benefit modifications. Plan is to get more driveability (less turbolack) and possibly a bit more power needed in track days. This may take a while but I'll post modifications once I fall into this track. ![]()

Wow, great mods/work. You can use the 993 heat exchangers on a 930 but you have to rotate or "flip" the flanges.
Great projects keep the pictures coming.

Wow that is a different approach.
Will you have to re-modify the wing to accommodate your new intercooler? Yes you can use the 993 exchangers in a 930 application. I have a setup on the shelf that I will part out if you would like the Y-pipe assembly. Flanges are flipped on the exchangers. Ready to bolt up. ![]()

Thought that looked familiar! No apology needed. Good luck on your project. Bill

Brian, Skyline stock cooler is such a shape that other end is slightly "shorter" than other and if I place those "short" ends in opposite direction once coolers are mated, this combo fits inside wing and I do not need to do further modification
![]() Skyline cooler looks like good stuff, it has nice fins and also fins inside core tubes i.e. increasing heat transfer area. Regarding exhaust, let me study a bit more whole lot I got (bought whole 993 EG setup so there are some spare pipes to be used and some heating pipes made aluminum looks like perfect pieces to intercooler project). So, I am not sure what I still need. And thanks to all for your comments & Merry Christmas!

Dan,
I do have them, but please note it may be costly & troublesome to send them to Bellingham as I do live in Australia? I believe they are Japanese made (car is imported from Japan to Australia) and are good quality and fit. PM if you are still interested. Regards, Harri

Here few pics how car looks with wheels. Unfortunately due to life moving around, I have not had time to build the engine. It still has original lump, I did source NA 3.6 (964) with ITB etc. and will keep it until new turbo engine will be ready. Now car is back in Finland, and I am aparted from all that fun as been moved back to China

Car looks great.

I bought it from PWR Australia, they had some suitable but they made some tailoring according to my needs. Here is some sort of dwg about it, sorry it is not good quality as it is just prnt screen shoot.
![]() If I would make another one, I would swap mounting ears in a way that they are pointing "outwards", this would make it much easier to have cooler mounted and to install some std rubber boot between cooler and chassi. Now it was a bit tight to install rubber with those ears pointing s they are in the pic. This cooler has M30x1.5 thread connectors, same like OEM, so I bought short hoses from our host and made longer hoses.
