reviving this 'ole thread

Does anyone think they could fab up a set of these, either adhesive or magnetic? It's my commuter for the week (simply because) and my buddy'd love to get the paint done but is afraid to eff up the original striping (which is unfort rather fading).

LMK, TIA!

I could do it. I would recommend using a quality vinyl as opposed to magnetic. The vinyl would require less maintenance. I am currently working on putting 935/76 stripes on a white '07 GT3. See attached mock-up.

I have always liked the gaurds, but it really depends on the color contrast. Sometimes too much livery clutters a car and other times you're like YES!

I've always thought about doing that to my car but never did. Do you have a pic of a Black car with the Turbo script on the side? Also, I had a small Porsche sticker across my old '85 911 that I liked real well. Not so loud like the ones posted above. But if you have a pic (or photoshop one) of what it would look like on a black car minus the shark fin I may be interested.

Here's the smaller Porsche script I had on my '85..

Here's my black 930:

Hey Bill,

What color turbo script were you thinking?

Bill,

I would suggest three colors: White, Medium Silver or Black Carbon Fiber for a more subtle look. See attached.

I don't know, the med silver isn't so bad. What would the carbon look like on black? None of them are jumping out at me like it does on that white car. That car looks sweet! Maybe on black it just doesn't work.

Well I really think it's those pics and White in the real world would look much nicer. I mean that car alone doesn't 'jump' out at me with or without the script to start with. Better pics to start with would help. Do you have some other pics or can anyone photoshop that script on the side of my car? That would help to see what it would actually look like on my car.

Bill,

If the turbo stripe does not immediately stand out to you, I would not put them on your car. When I was a kid my neighbor had a beautiful white 74 Carrera Targa with the black trim and ducktail. It slayed me. I have dug that script ever since. My purpose in designing a "turbo" version was to re-capture that same feel. It worked.

Hey Tim...do you still have your script on your car?

Dan

This car jumps out at me and the script just adds/sets it off. Very nice! My car jumps out at me but some subtle additions would set it off and add the WOW factor. I just don't see it in those pics you posted. It's not just about the script but it's about the car first and then the script, wheels, windshield logo, removing the third brake light, ride height etc all make the WOW package. This white car with scripts or not will jump out of the crowd..

Maybe I'll take that same pic, try to photo shop it to black and change the scripts to white and I bet it'll look much better.

Bill, I've owned that car since '92 and have had a blast thinking of ways to improve it. It's wearing Martini stripes now. Next week...Gulf Livery!...after that...Rothmans! Take your time and enjoy.
