Does anyone have or know of this book?

Got it from a family friend who's family has been collecting cars (mostly 20's and 30's era) for decades. They have bought single cars and whole collections that include memorabila as well. The've got shelves of books that they don't even know what's in there and as he was perusing through his books he found this (along with a 959 book) and gave it to me since it's about my car.

The Book:

Tribute to the Turbo Carrera
by Karl Ludvigsen
"Potographer Guy Morrison, using a Pentax 6x7, took the photographs for this book during the week of Novermber 17, 1975."
Printed in the USA in 1975? (its not real clear as to when published)

Here are a few pictures about the book. thought it would be fun to share, but if it's old news, let me know and i'll shut up!!!

I have it as well... excellent! Kind of a hardcover sales brochure. You can still find reprints.

the last ime this topic came up, someone mentioned that there was a run of copies outside of the initial 1,000. These are not considered as collectable as the numbered ones and go for a lot less $$.
I've got two of the numbered ones. One came with the car from the PO, the other was a gift from a fellow PCA member when he sold his 76 930.

You may be interested to know why this book was written.

Porsche+Audi in the US had taken a lot of orders for the Porsche Turbo but the cars were slow in coming. For that reason they commissioned this book as a product to placate the intending owners and asked me to write it. It was never sold commercially at the time it was released.

As you say, it has been republished my Mercian Manuals and is available from them.

"asked me to write it" OMG are you Karl Ludvigsen? what a honor to write with you. I bought my 930 last year, and got the car shipped to Denmark. I have searched after literature regarding Porsche 930, and especially the early 930. So I was very pleased to find the "Tribute to the Turbo Carrera" Very interesting reading. Have you written anything else regarding Porsche?

I really like you to sign the book for me, some day, when you visit Denmark

Best regards
Jesper

This book would have also come in a very nice protective, numbered box. My copy below still has this box:
