Great read, thanks.

A930Rocket 01-20-2010 01:24 PM

Wow...

pkracer21j 01-20-2010 06:51 PM

Looks like somthing I'd ghetto fab up if I still had my 944...

copbait73 01-20-2010 06:59 PM

Scary and ridicules as it seems - placing a turbo at the tailpipe on a front engine car - there are serious kits out for modern pony cars to do this. They typically just add a mild boost to an already powerful high compression motor.

The custom body panels, well all I can say is YiKes!

How did I miss that one?

I usually laugh pretty good at threads like that. This one, not so much.

copbait73 01-20-2010 07:20 PM

Wish the moderator hadn't shut it off.

I love it. Had all the makings of a thread of epic internet proportions. Kinda like the guy who custom-welded up a turbo at home, or the guy who mixed NOS energy drink into his GSX-R gas tank, or the guy who tried a home port-and-polish job by running gravel through the motor. Jet fokking black!

I like the road warrior look and hardware selection theme. True junk yard build stuff.

ok i can't hold in anymore.... That car needs to die.... Quickly. Seriously that is a ****ed up mess... Wtf is with the prancing horse up front and the porsche on the side? I'll bet you used or still do own something with a vtec? Seriously nothing about your turbo makes any sense.... Its just all ****ed up. Have you changed the tbelt? Your motor won't last long. I'll guarantee....
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of Sidney's comments are hilarious. I'm still chuckling.

Brian, now there is an idea; a clean out plug on the exhaust. Now why didn't you think of that?

9dreizig 01-20-2010 08:43 PM

Sidney can be pretty funny...

Here it's done right...on a 928 with a remote mount turbo

www.p9-m.com

While not emissions legal in CA, it does pass emissions in WA state, I can personally attest it is scary fast, mainly because it can't get traction under triple digits.

David 01-21-2010 05:49 PM

It's surprising how much power these front V8 - rear turbo cars are making!

Obviously it's no where close to correct engineering wise, but you can bolt on a kit in few hours and have huge HP.

I guess the thing that makes it doable is the decent torque from a stock V8 with a long, small intake.

copbait73 01-21-2010 06:29 PM

Well somewhere in this crazy thread everyone was beating him up about heat and pressure loss of the remote mount but, the guy was right. Yes heat and pulse can have an effect but turbos are driven by gas flow.

RarlyL8 01-21-2010 09:02 PM

I just couldn't get past the Home Depot plumbing everywhere. PVC exhaust pipe off a turbo. Wow.

cl8ton 01-21-2010 09:08 PM

The most brutal threads Iíve ever seen have been in the 928 forums! (here and other places)
I sometimes catch wind of one and watch the train wreck in total amazement

sjf911 01-21-2010 09:44 PM

PVC and hot combustion gases? This comes to mind:

Man can we protest to get him back?

I would love to see some youtubes of that slick machine.
