Looks like it went for $47300.
Barrett-Jackson - The World's Greatest Collector Car Events™

Other than the boxed rockers it looks identical to my car, it would be nice to see what color red the interior is. If anyone in interested I will let my slightly higher mileage car go for $45000.

not a fan of the box rockers on a non slope car but it looks nice. maybe we can now stop undervaluing our 930's when someone is looking for price discovery on a quality car.

Actually that is $43000 + $4300 (10% buyers premium ) =$47600!! These Auctions bring top money if they seem like good examples. Do a sales search at BJ and some other major previous auctions and this price will seem about right. However the seller only recieved $40,800 ( 5% sellers fee) minus another $500 entry fee and whatever expences of getting himself and the car there. I currently have an offer offer of $40,000 of this car ( dark blue one) with a $4k commission going to the customers head hunter, total of $44000 to buyer. Wondering about the blue one as it has just turned 30K miles miles that is 13K less miles than the one that just sold for $47600 at todays BJ sale.

Drool...

I love this color combo. I would probably have a hard time letting this one go too.

Thanks for you comments, however since i got this 1979 over 9 years ago I since located a 77 silver / lobster interior ( W only 18K miles, now has 22K) orderded new with partial cloth sport seats which I like to use more otherwise I may have kept the 79 longer. Oh, also it was upgraded when near new with loads of old school mechanical mods to around 350 RWHP ( I like ). The roll bar sort of indicates something has been going on.

I have younger people 20's - 30's come up to me and say they like the look of the 930 more than the 996 or 997. They obviously refer to them as "the older and newer turbo's" since they do not know the internal P-car codes.
I think this will help keep the values higher for our cars. Considering my black on black '86 930 only has 12,800 original miles on it, I think I like what it may be worth.

You will have people standing in line when you decide to part with it. If that time ever comes give me a call, I may be interested at that time. Thanks Tony@VoitureLTD.

So what did you all think of the RUF turbo going for $79K?

Unless the 78 Targa was a very special and rare special wishes car and not a custom which I think it is, I would say someone made a big mistake!

The 98 Targa RUF is a different story. Seemed like a fare price comparing it against a factory 97 993TT. Last year of the air cooled, glass roof targa, and RUF is interesting and might even hold its value.
