Body Flex

I'm putting 930 brakes on my 76 930. I have the car on a lift (cylinder with 4 point pickups) but I removed both rear trailing arms and I've noticed that my engine lid does not latch with them removed. I've had the car on this lift before for a few days and never had an issue. I noticed this just after I removed the trailing arms, could it be that the weight of the arms cause enough flex (or extra support) to the body that the lid latches?

I've looked at the shock mount areas and haven't noticed any cracking, but thought this was weird. Anyone else ever had this happen???

BTW the lid fits pretty tight and i have to give it a swift/sharp close for it to latch normally.

I'm no engineer, and can't tell you why, but body's flex. Put the car on four jackstands (torsion bars frt/rear) then open/close the doors, notice the difference????
