I spray water over my IC. I pulled the temps down from 53 Deg C to 44 deg C - back to back comparison at around 15 deg ambient. Stock IC.
Switching to a 964 IC and same comparison at around same ambient, pulled temps down to 29 deg C.

Exactly what I used did on one of my cars and it works. The Motes ECU would control the function based on temp

When I get really serious I stuff ice into the water reservoir (the windscreen washer bottle). I have a couple of fine mist spray nozzles L and R of the IC - located in the lid. They spray a fan across the IC and the engine fan sucks it thru.

Yes. but would you be concerned about spraying alcohol over a hot engine? I have no concerns about the water - but what happens when the alcohol evaporates from the water on a hot engine?
Probably too small an amount to worry about - but it did concern me.

You would have to pump a LOT of alcohol to get to a flammable concentration. The LEL (lower explosive limit) of methanol in air is 6.7% by volume. The 3.2 fan does about 600 L/sec of air at 3000 crank rpm I think, only increases from there. So to get to 6.7% LEL you have to pump about 40 L/sec. of methanol. Methanol has the lowest boiling point but the bad part is you can't drink it.

Hmm. Food for thought. I wanted to do water/meth injection but the fun police that make the rules said prohibited.
If I do catch fire - will you come and help put it out :-)
Regards
Alan

Looks like a custom bellhousing setup that secures the transaxle to the tub in an add'l spot so the engine can just be pulled out the back, very cool. Any add'l info? I also see no boots on the CV's just grease them a little before each race?

Yes
Started life as one of Bucklers early 911 race cars

The story of how that car came to be is funny. It all started with my 935-84 and the 935-84 spare chassis.

It looks like the engine hanger does double duty as a rear cross member between the longitudinals. I'm looking at doing this on a street car so I can cut out the rear cross member part of the tub between the longitudinals so I can free up space for rear mounted twin turbos up high then have space below for mufflers, I do not want to run side mounted turbos.

I have been thinking about making a kit for this based on whet I have on the Kremer K3

Very sad story. If my memory serves me right, he was killed in a fight.
