This thread has some good reading material:

400hp the magic number?

Once you've done the typical bolt on mods (turbo, exhaust, intercooler), then you're looking at cams, different pistons/cylinders, and headwork. This will give your checkbook a nice workout.

Yes, add cams to my list. I shouldn't take that mod for granted. There are many ways to get to 400whp but I believe that list is pretty standard.
Engine tear-down is not necessary and stock hardware is OK if you respect stock redline.

My two cents:

The PowerHaus HP numbers seems pretty accurate if using the 265hp US 930.

265 + 130 = 395 crank HP.

Note that the 40hp for headers might be a bit misleading. That would only be if compared to the pre 1980 930 USA header/heat exchangers which were really bad. The euro & USA 85+ heat exchangers were pretty good.

With .9 bar 'actual' boost, intercooler, SC cams, intake ports, sport muffler, K27-7200 or other sport turbo, 3.5% CO, about 390-400 chp or 330-340fwhp.

To get more requires making the motor really breath. Very good intercooler, quality porting of heads and manifold, big efficient turbo, headers, more boost, and a fueling strategy using a CIS FlowTech High Flow fuel distributor and a BL WUR w boost clamp or better yet, programmable by rpm and load Digital-WUR. Twin pluging and a 3.4 build or long stroke 3.6 crank shaft helps.

Don't forget bigger or second oil cooler and early SC cooling fan.

Ultimate 930 Dyno Thread!
