A question about the M491 option
Did this option include a limited slip differential?
In 1984, Porsche also introduced the M491 option. Officially called the Supersport, it was commonly known as the "Turbo-look". It was a style that resembled the Porsche 930 Turbo with wide wheel arches and the distinctive "tea tray” tail. |
While most M491-optioned cars were also ordered with a Limited-Slip Differential (option code 220), not all have LSD; same rule seems to largely apply to Sport Seats on M491 Turbo-Look's...I had a very lightly-optioned '84 M491 coupe that did not have a Limited-Slip (the original owner wanted a widebody but because he bought it as a company car and was trying not to attract attention from the bean counters at work he ordered it w/ hardly any other options - it had manual standard seats, no automatic climate, no cruise, no LSD - and the poor flare-lover still got in trouble at work and had to sell it inside of a year.)
