front strut insert bump stops-question?

I was sending my Bilstein front strut inserts out for rebuild and noticed that the original rubber bumper donuts inside the strut housing had been disintegrated into litttle pieces. Possibly age or likely impact damage from bottoming out the front struts but anyway here is my question:

I have been told that the original style bump stops are no longer required as they are internal to the strut inserts that are being currently remanufactured/rebuilt. IS THIS TRUE?
I have not seen a replacement offered for the Bilstein insert on this Pelican site where I order all my parts so am wondering if this is a true statement. I am scepticle and want to make sure before I reinstall the inserts without new bump stops and in the event I do bottom out the suspension I dont damage the insert.

I have heard the same thing, that the bump stops are internal.

Where are you sending the struts? The shop should be able to give you a quick answer.

Funny you should say that, I sent them to Bilstein and called the NC headquarters. The girl that answered said they dont supply this part believe it or not and she could not verify whether they were internal or not to the insert. I am gonna try again at the california Bilstein and see if someone there knows something.
I would like to at least find out where I can buy replacement bump stops anyway. Pelican dont have them, I tried already.
Anyone have any suppliers they can give me?

The bump stops are in the bottom of the strut but not internal to the insert which I believe would be impossible to accomplish.

The bump stop is difficult to remove them from the strut without causing damage unless it are already destroyed which means it comes out in various sized dirty chunks. They deteriorate over time as they are rubber and from the compression hits from the shock.

I have never seen replacements offered.

Good luck and if you find replacements please post the info here.
