Clutch helper spring differences?
My 930 didn't seem to have a clutch helper spring, but seemed to work fine. Figured I would put one one just to make everything original. Whats the difference between the regular helper spring (75$), and the turbo one ($160). Visually, they look the same in the catalog. Is it merely an issue of providing more tension? Should I just pick up a used one?
Any help appreciated. Bo |
I have tried used and new and it really didnt make a difference, but just wanted a new one for piece of mind!

Did you get the "turbo" one or the regular one? Any diff for the extra 80$ or so?
|
I went with the turbo application because I have the turbo . I just want to get on the same page you are talking about the ohmega spring or the one by the pedal? The one by the pedal is no longer available. I have heard of people ditching the one by the pedal because it makes no difference!

Thanks for the info. Talking about the omega spring...
PO must have lost the original omega spring, because he (or his mechanic?) Had replaced it with a straight spring, attached to a small post they made. Gotta say, it worked fine...but doesn't "look" good.... |
Watch out ,sounds like that would take out a eye.

I had one blow out while I was trying to install and as I tried to shimmy out of the way I took the lower shock mounting bolt to the back of the head. I cant handle springs of any type, compressing struts or another good one is the wastegate spring deathtrap assembly.
