FunfGruppen to sponsor Eddie Bello at Texas Mile

It is with great pleasure to announce that FunfGruppen (Funf Gruppen - Site Entrance) will be an official sponsor of Eddie Bello of Bellopowermotorsports in his quest for ultimate air-cooled flat 6 turbo speed at the Texas Mile event on March 26-28th. TEXAS MILE // OFFICIAL SITE // 3 DAYS, 1 MILE: NO SPEED LIMIT

Bello has now decisively broken in both Texas (226mph) and Miami (236.7mph) the speed record that Mark Donohue set with the 1500hp intercooled 917/30 of 221mph

March 26-28th, he is aiming to beat his only competition, himself and his own records, to go faster than anyone ever thought possible in an 'old skool' street driven 964 turbo.

Any 930 guys in Tx, here is your chance to come out and watch history

The 917/30 was a closed circuit record. 917's and 956's were pushing 250mph at Le Mans. This is the fastest 911 breaking Denny Kahler's 230mph 911 street car record at Bonneville 20 years ago. His car was a narrow bodied 911 with a chopped top, 3.0 liter, MFI, twin turbo. As a side not he also went 220mph with a little 2.0 liter twin turbo.

This is pretty cool, thanks for the 411, had never heard of Kahler.

PM sent.

Exactly... strange comparison.
That closed course record was at Talladaga or someplace like that, not a 1 mile straight line with lots of runoff area.

and those factory endurance racecars mentioned were in a state of tune to do those speeds every lap for at least 24 hours straight.

Not saying Bello's car isn't fast, never did.
I think it's cool and interesting what he's doing.

These comparisons are all really apples and oranges.

However, what makes Bello's achievement pnenomenal (as Jon mentioned before), is that he is reaching his speed in ONE MILE, not at miles and miles of Bonneville, not on a 4 mile straight like the old mulsanne, and not at a huge oval like Talledega

'cool and interesting' is an understatement, lol

I think if Eddie can find the traction! we need to put him up against an F-16. That'd be a good race.

btw, Justin, bello reaching these speeds in 1 mile doesn't make it phenomenal for me, its him reaching these speeds while spinning the tires all the way down the track! Ballsy. Straight f***in Ballsy!

Now do we want to talk about impressive

At least in my book !!, Drive a STREET CAR from New Yor To Texas

distance from Texas (TX) to New York (NY) is:2,500+ miles

After that road trip make 3 one mile passes all over 200mph , stop on the way back at the drag strip and make 3, 10 second passes and continue driving back home.

What we have to decide is in what size of the fence some of US are
