Spark plug wire location on distributor cap
 

On 1978 930 if we were starting from scratch, where does the #1 spark plug wire go to on the distributor cap and are we going clockwise or counter clockwise to hook up the rest of the spark plug wires? Your expertise is highly appreciated.

equality72521, thank you for the thread but I am still confused about the #1 location and are we going clockwise or counter clockwise? Could you explain in more detail with hand drawing maybe so I could understand where it should go. This thread is still not clear.

Also from the second picture it looks like the #1 is above the rt clip and #5 below. Is this correct? Which part of our rotor is the pointing end? It looks like my rotor is turning counter clockwise. On 1-6-2-4-3-5 wire going in clockwise or counter clockwise even though the rotor turning counter clockwise?

The rotor is in the correct position in the first pic. The rotor turns counter-clockwise 1-6-2-4-3-5. The #1 wire should be just to the left of the clip where the rotor is in pic #1. Forget the second pic, it is a clock-wise rotation.
