Does anyone have a pic of a slantnose with the rear vents but without the boxed rockers?

TT Surgeon,
The reason for changing is primarilly because I prefer the look of the traditional fenders over the slant. Don't get me wrong, though, I love my car the way it is, I just think I will love it even more.
When I was looking for my car, of all the cars I looked at and made offers on, there were only two slants that I considered, my 79 and an 87 505 car that came up for sale near by. My car was the best specimen of all the cars I looked at, except for one (a silver/black all original 79) that sold for much more than my budget allowed. The long term plan for mine was to eventually get it back to its original look. I'm keeping the BBS wheels and all the go-fast goodies on it, I am not intending on bringing it back to full stock. I did recently buy an original set of Fuchs to try and see how well the car drives on, so I am undecided on that yet.

Cheers!
JM

Kev, Beautiful car.

I had lunch with close friends on Sunday, and took a beating (verbal) for thinking about changing from slant to conventional. I'm still doing it, though.

Having had both now, there are some attractive characteristics to a regular 930. I still love slants, but slants are very difficult to drive on a regular basis given their rarity and subsequent irreplaceable nature in even the simplest fender bender. Here, a regular 930 has the advantage. The f car syndrome, everybody stares at it, taking pictures, at first it's cool then gets old, give the edge to the more under the radar regular 930. In the clear light of day, they definitely look dated, where a regular one is a timeless, classic design.
It would be insane to convert a true 505 car to regular fenders, but it's certainly reasonable in a conversion.
Id still love to get my old 505 back, nonetheless. GL, keep us posted!
