Help in removing bearing dust cover

I washed car and it must have took a while to dry especially the brake rotors. When I went to move car front pad had bonded to rotor. Once it free itself the brakes started to grab. When I inspected the rotors is see that a small amount of brake pad material is bonded to rotor. it needs to come off!

I'm stuck with HOW to remove front bearing dust cover. One in picture. While I'm looking at rotor how do I adjust the from bearings as they have a little play?

for the help!

I have removed the dust covers before by threading a bolt in to the cap and using a slide popped right out. Any chance you could just remove the material that bonded to the rotor by sanding disk or??

I replied in the 911 Tech section as well. The 911s do not have this front hub cover. Ours are generally pryed off withi various methods.

You can see in picture that I already unbolted hub from rotor so it's to late to do anything while still on car. I'll need to remove to hold bolts to re-attach hub and rotor.

What about adjusting the wheel bearing any suggestions.

Thanks for the link to the other thread....Back out to garage to get this thing moving.

Slide hammer is the official. Works most of the time. A LITTLE heat on the hub doesn't hurt.

I've been using a pair of BF ChannelLocks to remove any caps that I have not had off before. Choose a channel that gets the handles very close together and rock it up and down until you see some movement. If the hub were still on the car, I'd suggest rotating the hub 90 degrees at a time and rocking until you see some movement.
I've had the center threaded bung strip out several times.
oh, and a couple of 130-0 panic stops should remove any built-up lining material.

I am going to try that next time. I actually had the threaded part pull off one time.

I used my harmonic balancer puller tool backwards and threaded the correct diameter bolt through the center puller bolt hole with a second backup nut on a washer to create the pull...worked perfectly

Did not have correct tread bolt to tread into dust I re-attached the hub to rotor and then just cleaned the rotor in-place.

I will need to tackle this again to adjust bearing but I'll find the correct bolt to use to extract this. I have one that was very close, but not exact...metric system...
