Kendall super d3

I've used Mobil 1 20w-50w for over 10 years in my 88 930, now with 60,000 miles. My mechanic suggested switching to Kendall super d3. The ultimate oil thread doesn't mention the d3 specifically. Any thoughts on switching to the d3 vs the Mobil 1? Thanks,

Jonathan

As long as you're using 20W-50 Mobil 1, you're fine. Just stay away from 10W-40 and lower oils since they're low zinc.

The Kendell D3 has a little more zinc, but not much.

Thanks for the replies. From your comments and others I have read, it looks as if both oils will do the job.

Does anyone know of a site that gives me the #'s for Castrol Syntec?

Or a comparison to Mobil 1?

I can't find anywhere that Castrol posts the numbers. Even their product data sheets with a line for zinc don't list the content. I wouldn't use it until you know for sure, besides Castrol is owned by BP... I'm just sayin.
