oil source

I Recently purchased a 1977 930, car did not smoke. Dummy me, I did not know how to check to oil. I had oil coming out of the air cleaner soon after adding 3 quarts. The cars turbo was not kicking in when floored(that is another question)

Oil was in both the lower intake pipes, not sure if it was the overfill or pre existing.

My question is, there is old oil on the oil tank below the turbo, Is this common ?
See below picture

It's hard to say, but it doen't look like fresh oil, so I would say it was a pre-existing condition, such as the seals leaking.

BTW, check your oil with the engine running at up to temp.

Took a closer look at the turbo, it has allot of play, now that I could wiggle both sides. It made it more obvious it is bad. I want to keep it stock. I need to find a nice k26 or have it rebuilt sometime in the future.
