I was at the last one in Dallas, Texas and am starring at the poster from it on the wall of my office right now. 1984 and 105 degrees!!!! Nigel Mansel was leading the last lap when he ran out of gas 100 yards from the finish line and in the hot temp tried to push his own car across the line while being screamed past by all the other cars on a very narrow street circuit! Very dramatic!!

I was on the back straight so I missed the finish line antics.

One of the coolest things about that race weekend was the Porsche 935DP pace car.

During one of the practice sessions the DP was on the back stretch when the F1 cars hit the track. It was cool watching and hearing the DP launch down the back stretch in an effort to get off the track before getting caught by the F1 cars.

I was every where that day. That DP was real cool. 3 days before the race I was on my GS750 running the track and almost bit one. That track was slick and ended up not staying down well either.
