'bout time.

And a purpose built F1 facility. Finally, the US catches up with the ROW in premier racing.

For Sure Todd! My Bro's lakehouse has plenty of room and it'd only be 30 minute drive

I'd say it remains to be seen because they have no clue where they are going to do it and not a single shovel has moved to start building the facility or track...

and they got 2 years to get it done.

Having said that the people of Texas can do it if they decide on a location in time.

+1.
My advice to Austin is don't do it.
That little troll Bernie is famous for getting people to build tracks and then hiking up the sanctioning fees until the only one making money is him. I've seen it happen over and over again; Detroit, Indy, Montreal and others. No one seems to learn.

That should be fun to see him try to pull one like that in Texas.

HOWEVER...I must say that we Haley Barbor, Gene Taylor, and Trent Lott did a FABULOUS job of realizing that it doesn't matter which side of the line they're on regarding politics...they worked together. Some wonderful volunteerers came to help us and the military was definitely here, but we reacted differently than New Orleans...it wasn't a warzone here...

More news yesterday is that the track is designed and the land bought! $200 million price tag. I am starting to plan my first race weekend at the track...with my cars! Just get it built as we are still using Texas World Speedway from its failed Buba Car attempt. Turned into a GREAT road course!

This is great news race fans and especially for local drivers! With respect to spending a bundle on a track to have it not be used...I can think of some pretty famous tracks in the States and abroad which were once used for sanctioned racing that are now utilized by guys like us on the weekends

Sweet, I always wanted to see an F1 race.... But I never pictured Texas as the state to pull it off.
