77 930 starter switch

Easy question. I don't have a owners manual so i can't look up the answer. I have key ignition switch of course , in addition my car has a pull switch on the dash to activate the starter. Is this stock?

Thanks

Funny what can happens to a car in 33 years. It sure looks stock. No wonder the repair shop could not start it.

Ignition switch probably went bad and somebody jury rigged a new switch? You could probably just change out the back ignition part and get it working right.

Now that I know I have a problem. I will add it to the things to fix. I hate electrical.

Don't most 77 930 come with light blue leather interior.
Wish I knew the official name for it. A guy has a NOS drivers door panel on Ebay for sale. Unfortunately nothing is wrong with mine. I wish i could say the same for my dash and rear tray. Sent off a piece of my leather to World Upholstery( hosts interior supplier) to see if they can match it.

Instead of jury rigging it like I said, maybe it WAS done on purpose to prevent theft?

DHG,

I have a switch for my ignition and fuel pumps on the dash. Good for theft protection and bumping the starter around for setting the valves and you can't get bit by the coil either, the MSD coil could replace my defibrillator and you don't want to get ahold of it.

Seen some of your posts and, like most of us when we started out, you getting in a hurry. Remember the old bull and the young bull standing on top the hill. They we looking down in the valley at a herd of cows. The young bull turns to the old bull and says, "lets run down there and f--- one of them". The old bull slowly turns to him and says "lets walk down and f--- them all"

The first thing you need to buy is a good aftermarket intercooler, it will go a long way to keep things from going Bang !!!! Then decide what you want from the car and how it is going to be used. Start reading the forum and you'll learn a lot.
Then start asking the questions with a knowledge base under your belt. This will help you avoid a lot of impulsive mistakes that cost a lot of money.

There are a lot of good guy's here that are willing to help, take your time and make the right decisions the first time.

Cole

Not sure how asking about a starter switch was getting in a hurry. I can see if I asked how to add NOX, then I need to slow down.

The car is staying stock just a nice driver. Plus it is a Calfornia car, emissions laws. Not sure how it Passed smog in the past without thermo reactors and the smog pump not working. Someone knew how to lean it out , or had a connection.

Alright I confess, I did wonder about a K27.

I Appreciate the answers, I do use the search tool trying to learn about this great car, It is hard to not ask questions, when I can't find the answer.

DHG,

My post had little or nothing to do with a dash switch. I sincerely apologize for wasting your time and mine.
