What upgraded turbo is a Direct bolt i

kind of confused with the turbos Porsches use.

Is there a better turbo that is a direct replacement for a the k26 3DLZ for a 1977 930.

I figure if I have the stock one rebuilt it would cost a minimum of $400 after shipping, I will still have a laggy turbo.

so if there is a better turbo for a few extra bucks without the headaches. Any good hybrids?

Staying mostly stock Is the goal.

Thanks Danny

Yes. The K27-7200 was used on the '90-'94 964T and is a direct replacement for the 3LDZ. For a factory fit without cutting anything you need an up-pipe adapter and the 964T turbo bracket. Boost threshold will be reduced ~600rpm on an otherwise stock engine. Add a free flowing muffler and you may reduce threshold by nearly 1000rpm.

Is threshold another way of saying spools up boost sooner ? I have a EVO 8 and threshold is not something I have heard of.

Yes, boost threshold is the earliest RPM that you detect boost. Full boost is an easier measurement. Both treshold and full boost RPM will shift down with a K27 and free flowing muffler.

Discussed here...

Is this K27 a good upgrade?
