clutch

Does a clutch dry out ? Unfortunetly I do not know the type of clutch I have in my car though my pedal is stiff and I just replaced my cable springs and rebuilt my pedal cluster. The clutch was replaced in my car in 1995 and has 10000 miles on it.Any ideas?Engine drop yikes

make sure it's adjusted correctly. the fact that it's "tight" might mean it never fully engages
and no they don't dry out..

Don't forget to lube the throw out bearing grove (accessible through the inspection cover on the side with the drivers side rear wheel removed). I had a very hard pedal that stuck down occasionally and a little squirt while a friend was pumping the clutch fixed it. I need to do it again with a longer lasting product like chain wax or lithium grease.

Did you adjust the return spring on the pedal cluster?
