Busy weekend and quick question on Leask WUR
 
Well, I had a very busy but productive weekend. I got my trans back with limited slip rebuilt, so installed the new clutch and all related seals and bearings and reinstalled the engine and trans. While I was at it I replaced the old wastegate (PO had broken a stud off and it looked ratty) with a new Tial unit.

While the engine was out I removed the air pump and related pipes and hoses, and installed bung plugs in the cylinders. This led to replacing 5 of the cylinder exhaust studs - big drag. Good learning.

I also installed a Leask WUR with the digital RPM switch. This is where I have a question...For those of you who have the Leak WUR, which rpm switch is the best one to start out with until I hit the dyno? I stuck the 4400 RPM switch in there to start with, but figured I would ask if anyone here has gone through the whole setup with dyno and figured out which switch is actually the best to be using.

My engine config is stock 3.3L, .9BAR Tial wastgate, B&B intercooler, RarlyL8 exhaust on stock late model ('88) HE's, no air pump, and an LC1 wide band monitor.

My two cents is on a stock motor with stock turbo, .9 bar, and sport muffler you should not need the rpm delayed boost clamp at all and on boost control pressure should be near stock.

Not an expert.

So you're still running with the stock 3LDZ turbo? Unless you have a quicker spooling turbo than stock, then you probably won't see the much benefit of an rpm switch. It's more to delay super-rich conditions at the lower rpm's as the result of the quicker spooling and the WUR doing it's thing in reaction to the earlier boost signal.

I run with a K27 7006, which spools faster than the stock units...but slower than say a 7200. My switch is set at 4200, and I could most likely put in a higher "pill" yet, but I'm happy with what my AFR's are doing. Never had it on a dyno, sorry.

Oh yeah, I must have been hurrying - I do have the k27S installed, not the 3DLZ.

Given that any suggestions?
