77 930 Clutch Cable Pic Needed
Anyone have a pic of how it mounts to the trans? Seems like the 1976-1977 cars have a different cable than the 1978 and later models. Think I have the later cable and the new one I got is different. Would like to put the proper one on as I always thought the clutch travel seemed funky.

Picture of new one on left and the one on the car is to the right with the threads. Just want to put the correct one on.

Thanks for the picture to compare.
Was hoping someone had a pic of the 1977 set up as well. |

My new cable arrived today and looks just like your new one - it's the one listed for the '76-77 in the PET but my old one looks like your old one and A930Rocket's.
Maybe our cars were updated with the hooked-end '78-88 turbo cable? I have no idea how to make this other cable work.

Maybe someone has retrofitted the clutch lever arm and support? Can it be retrofitted back?

Since we don't have the original old cable we need the correct end to put on the new cable . I ordered the rubber sleeve 311 713 269 A, end piece 911 423 205 03 and nut N 011 007 3. |

I think you're right. Oh well, I've felt stupider before. I think I'll order that stuff too.

77 930 clutch cable
Hi, I gave a 930 77 Tranny and recently ordered the cable from our host (PP), part number:
930-423-401-05-M74 It had the rubber booty and hook end already on it. Below is a photo of it installed. I couldn't get my helper spring setup correctly, so I don't use that part of the clutch setup anymore. Seems to work just fine without it. I hope that helps, Mike ![]() |
