What is this car worth?

A close friend is offering his 930T to me for what I think is a silly low price. I was considering buying it and driving it for a bit or I may just flip it. What do you think this car is worth in todays market.

Porsche 930 Turbo 1977
68K miles
MSD ignition
5 speed
Brand new paint and all new weather and rubber stripping
Interior original and in perfect shape.
Factory repair/parts manual

The seller has many cars and doesn't car so much about the money. He know I love Porsches and we had a lengthy discussion and he does not care if I flip the car. He just doesn't want to be bothered with the car or the work of selling the car. So no I won't be flipping the car without his knowledge.

I don't know which 5 speed he has. Not sure if he would know either.

I believe only the 1989 Porsche 930 had a 5 speed. Does this car have its original engine?

That is correct. So the 5 speed was a modification. I don't know all the details but knowing the seller, I am confident everything he did was done top notch. Not sure if he switched to 5 speed or if it was a previous owner.

I think the early non-intercooled turbos are sought after in Europe so this may have the potential of going back there. However, you do need to see what 5 speed is in there. The car is worth the most if it is original, but if it is a G50 in there, the chassis was modded to fit the tranny. That market would be for someone that would drive the car, not collect it.

Swapping the 4spd for a 915 was not uncommon with the early cars. The HP level and turbo lag did not lend itself to city driving. Changing to a 915 feels like adding 50HP and makes the car a lot more fun to drive. Replacing the original 4spd is a bit more difficult as they are specific for '76/7.
Nice looking car.

If he changed the 4 speed to a 5 speed and still has the 4speed let me know. I would be interested to buy it. That should reduce the cost of your buying it ( or him selling it to you for less ) even more.
