Blown6

I might be shooting myself in the foot by posting this right now. Due to the fact that they owe me a refund, but I feel like I have to say something before someone else buys one of these Intercoolers.

Please stay away from Blown6.

The story starts on Ebay. I saw the blown6 930 halfbay upgrade. I had my Mechanic call them over at Blown6 and they stated that the intercooler has polished inlet and outlet. The intercooler is polished aluminum. They said that it was a long neck direct bolt on and it came with brackets.

So I went and brought it on ebay. They stated that it would ship three days after my payment cleared.

I used paypal so it cleared that same day.

I waited for a little over two weeks. I sent them an email and got no response. I then called the number and someone picked up. They said that they would look into it and get back to me.

I then got an email a day later telling me that there was a problem with my shipment and that it would go out the next day and that they would send me a tracking number. I waited again with nothing. A week later I sent them a message that I was going to paypal and start a dispute.

The next day I got an email with a tracking number.

This is what I got.

This is what I was suppose to get.

Anyway. The story continues. I tried to call them over and over after getting this used, damaged, Red intercooler. They would not answer the phone. I tried to email them. No answer. I then put a claim with Ebay. They responded right away to that saying that I should have waited longer.

The stated that the unit is not used and that they would ship me another one as soon as I ship them the this one. So I did. I shipped it back with their account.

The day I shipped it they sent me an email telling me that they only had a RED and BLACK intercooler and that I would have to have one of those. I then asked them for a refund. They said as soon as they get the other unit back.

So it has now been over a week. My car was suppose to be in a 4th of July parade. Needless to say that did not happen.

Oh, best part. The intercooler came with nothing. Just the intercooler. No brackets for mounting. No Hoses to connect it with. One mounting hole on the cooler itself.

Stay away from them.

I ended up buying a FABSPEED unit. I got it in two days. Right now It is in a box and I am working for the next few days. But the unit quality in welding and build is second to none. It also came with all brackets and hoses and blow off valve.

Just my two cents.

Rob

It also may not have been a direct, bolt-in part. Some of them (supposedly the earlier version) required some trimming of the tail base to fit.

Why these guys are not out of business is mind boggling to me. They have fancy website and pictures but their product and customer service really suck. I wonder who is running this company. Sorry to hear about your experience.

Very simple, folks like this poster keep buying from them before they run a background check. A quick search here will pull up several similar threads.

Not true

I did the best background check possible. They have GREAT feedback on ebay. Also every post here was about how nice the full bay cooler was. There were a few post that were bad and the owner of B6 upgraded them and then they were happy.

So THIS poster did some research. I wish I would have went to a few other forums where the 930 owners had a lot more to say about B6.

I don't know, Robert. Off the top of my head I think the threads complaining of B6 seem to outnumber the ones praising them. Their lack of bolt-on fitment and customer service issues are somewhat well-known. Sorry you had to experience that firsthand.

Now that you've found this resource, next time you want to drop some coin on your car (B6 also makes replica 3-piece Fuchs), feel free to post an inquiry here to see if the braintrust has any opinion on your plans.

Well after doing a search on Blown6 here in the teubo charging forum, I have found 24 topics. About 2/3 are good. Bad ones seem to end up well. Very little are bad.

Update.

Well let's say that it isn't good.

I sent the unit back. I called them and sent them messages in the ebay dispute. They got the unit back and they still did not credit me my money.

I called Ebay after the whole dispute thing didn't work.

They were very nice. It took them a few days, but after not being able to get in touch with the guys at BLOWN6 and seeing all the messages I sent on the dispute. They gave me every penny back along with the shipping.

I gave them bad feedback.

Here are a few pics of the FABASPEED set up with the kit they sent.
