LOL, was thinking the same thing Paul.

Pretty cool comparing all the lean angles and stances of our cars in different turns... now if i can just get my 930 to corner like that GT3, would be MONEY

Porsche Crest KJ's trip back to California from TurboPalooza

Hey guys, i have loved reading all the strories about this CRAZY weekend! You guys are all maniacs...I'm honored to have rolled with you ALL. I wish I lived on the east coast so i could have some more fun with y'all. Ok, so Doc and i ran around on Monday finishing up soe last minute things for his beast. I had an appointment to go see Bruce Abbott Tuesday morning 8am [Never have I met such a selfless, genuine honest and friendly mechanic - anyone who needs a gr8 mechanic, the drive to Spring Hope is well worth it]. We replaced the cv joints and I hit the road around 12pm...we talked a while b4 i left. Doc and I noticed the Carrera probably needs some new shocks and bushings as the steering vibrates when going faster that 75mph. I got the wheels alligned at Just Tires in Raleigh - 3hr process and the front wheels couldn't get alligned properly. I really needed to hit the road as I had an appointment in Scottsdale AZ on Thursday. So, 2600miles and 2 days to do it I woke up at 5am, went to sleep at 11pm after reaching hallucination adn eating lots of fast food. The Carrera was the BEST car I had done a cross country in. I didn't get uncomfortable at all. On one leg in Texas with a combination of 93octane and a bottle of 108 octane boost additive, I got 510miles on 17.5 gallons of fuel...you do the math!. The first night I slept in Georgia, and the second I tried to sleep at a rest stop in mid- Texas but after 2 hours of tossing and turning because of the trucks coming and going I decided to look for a motel. I arrived in Scottsdale AZ 6pm Thursday as was expected albeit exhausted. I wish i could have left on Monday morning as originally planned but what would a road trip be without some unexpected changes in plan. i think i need to plan on buying a 930 on the east coast next year TurboPalooza and driving cross country in a week. this might become a ritual :-)
So to sum it up, live fast and hard, push it into the red every time you can, make new friends, call the old, be nice to people, you never know who is watching! you guys are all fantastic and if you ever come to Cali, hit me up! KJ
Anyone tell me how to upload multiple pics please, i have a couple of good'ns and also a short clip of the dial kissing 170mph oops, sorry officer. i got stoped for no plates twice in Texas! Texas generates income from traffic fines first and then oil is a close second income generator.

KJ!!!! welcome to the forums! Killer sunset pics! You call us maniacs and yet you drove across the country with no tags??? don't act like your not one of us, haha! thats one for the books bro! I still find it funny how your car just came over here and its already back home. I guess once these cars have been in the canyons its tough to get them out! I think it may be in order for some of us to fly out and join in the TRE new years day drive. or to hit up a few old haunts...

KJ, brother! now i know what u have been up to, composing your first post! Awesome pix! There truly is no better way to go Jack Kerouac than in a 911/930. Glad the old girl took care of u like she did Pete and i last year. Any good redneck stories??? Anyhow, you showed your mettle on Sunday as an honorary N/A Tpooza newbie, so u gotta come back next year for a cameo appearance. Give u a shout this week bro.

PS, do you know how hard it is to keep an eye one your boost gauge, AFR meter and tach while being blinded by your (and everyone elses) white hairy arse??

If you were driving that Carrera the way you were when we were following Pete; you should have made it home in about 6-7 hours haha...

On that video- That was awful!! who the hell would do that to a fellow Porsche enthusiast?!!! Good times

Full Moon and a splash of redneck

Hey there Doc. You know I can never walk away from a good ol boys weekend without showing someone some arse! It seems to be contageous and for that I'm ever grateful. You looked good flying bye btw :-)
Redneck, yes there were a few but like you said, they start to show their true colors around 120mph. that is when their color turns from red to white. they break sweat and all of a sudden they must run out of fuel because their cars inevitably loose torque and HP all together. Please let me know how you post the vids, I would like to show you one or two of the trip. I'm really upset that Pete sold the RC51, I will have to buy one some days and ask his to set it up for me...and teach me how to ride it properly. Problem I have with bikes is that I lose all sense of fear and IQ once the throttle gets twisted. So, the Porsche scene with 4 doors and 170mph is much better "BIG GRIN ON MY FACE BTW!"
Go look @ YouTube - kissing 170mph.MOV
or search for, "kissing 170mph"...it was a 1 time thing :-)

LOL, all these prim and propper Porsche drivers that thumb their noses need to be brought back to reality, pick up their nuts and play like Men! Luckily none of the guys we know are prim adn propper when behind the controls of their beasts. As far as the 6-7 hours comment is concerned, I remember trailing a GT on the way back from the track and the driver of the GT was giving it hell and successfully keeping his sights on a 930 leading the pack. Hmmm, if you were driving the Carrera we might have the first recorded document f time travel!

Hope to see you on the track next year bro!
BTW, I would like all you guys to know what an awesome wife I have, when she asked about Saturday night and I told her about the shenannegan's we got up to, she said,"cool, I'm glad you guys are having a good time, just try not to get a speeding ticket on the way home ok", then asked when i would be home to which I replied, I expect Friday maybe Saturday but nothing is for sure to which she said,"I'll see you when I see you, have fun" DUDE, is she cool or what?!
I'm only saying this because I unfrtunatelly heard what some of you poor buggers went through on Sunday hee-hee, rub-rub

Porsche Crest polishing lip of fuchs wheels

I asked around on TurboPalooza [should be Turbo-Palooka's] about how to get rid of the clear film covering the chrome on my fuchs rims. One suggestion i received was using Brillo and Steel wool and basically scratch/rub it off. Would yu guys agree that this is the best way of removing the plastic film? I have confirmed it is plastic... Isn't there a chemical that could soften the plastic or even dilute it that wouldn't damage chrome or the rubber? All suggestions would be appreciated.

KJ ... the key to embedding YouTube videos. After you view a video, you get a screen like this ....

See the word embed in the upper right corner? Click on the code underneath the word Embed .... copy/paste into your post. Voila ... YouTube is now embedded!
