The new SpeedWerks :)

I began an Odyssey with my 930 five years ago, that has been fraught with disappointment expense after expense some of it was my beckoning of the Darkside some of it the fault of shortcomings, incapabilities, false promises and lies. I want to state that there are too many shops that can't deliver what is promised nor do they seem to care, it has been my experience that far too many vendors and shops act like they are doing you a favor so I wanted to acknowledge one of the good guys, Andy McNeil owner of SpeedWerks is a stand up guy. I hope the third time is the charm, I loved driving my very well tuned car back to Michigan, pleased to report that there are no oil leaks, but there may be an issue with the B&B headers. Andy helped me work through the work done by a so called legend in the Porsche world a turned in a very impressive completed product.
Project Type 930/1987 model/ 39243 miles

RSA polished crank and stock oil pump, etc.
Case boat tailed and shuffle pinned
Pauter rods
Mahle 3.4L Cylinders custom JE pistons: 8:1compression
Cylinders and heads ported with custom head work, 964 style head gaskets
930 heads ported with stock valve sizes,
Valves back cut for flow improvements along with some secret headwork
Imagine Auto billet upper and lower valve covers
Twin plug with 12 Bosch FR5DTC Super Plugs
Performance Development valve springs and titanium retainers
GT2 Evo custom grind cams
Carrera 3.2 liter intake manifold Extruded and honed
Wilson 70mm throttle body, Carrera idle air control motor
Custom billet fuel rails AN-10
Edelbrock pressure regulator
Siemens injectors 72lb/hr
Polished full bay intercooler from Bell intercoolers (Don Enderlein’s design)
B&B Headers (retained)
Fabspeed Dual out exhaust
Limit Engineering Garrett ceramic ball bearing turbo GT37CR
Tial BOV, Wastegate
MoTeC M600 with Data logging
Denso 580 coil near plug coils
Motec switch on the fly boost controller backed up by a Ruf manual boost controller with hidden Valet
Kennedy Engineered Products Pressure Plate/ Porsche Motorsport clutch
Carbon Fiber engine shroud (not that you can see it because of the massive intercooler)
Custom LED RUF Gauges, tachometer swings from six o’clock with voltmeter and 200mph speedometer
Transmission
Patrick Motorsports custom G50/50 with Paul Guard GT Chro-moly differential Motorsport synchros and sleeve assembly WEVO mounts WEVO G50 shifter.
Suspension
I have upgraded to an RSR coil over setup and Wevo Camber king setup with the strut brace tube.
Braking and Running Gear
The car presently has Big Reds all around and 17” Ruf Speedline classics (9.5x11.5x17 with Good Year Eagle F1 GS-D3)
Safety
Full Matter Roll cage and fire suppression is onboard. Bi-xenon H4s, Recaro Sport Top lines in suede and leather, Schroth harnesses full RS interior.
Miscellaneous
I have to have a soundtrack so, McIntosh head unit and amplifier sound system with ADS speakers and JL sub, Griffiths and Performance Aire AC, an Alcantera Ruf steering wheel, aero mirrors, Ruf pedals and Ruf gauges.

Oh my God....makes my moderately modded 930 feel like a VW bug by comparison. Enjoy!

Linc, its great to hear that the 930 is back in your garage where it belongs.

Yours is probably the best finished heavily modded 930 I have ever seen...I mean most guys will chuck the AC and sound system. I like the fact that your car is so "civilized" yet so deadly fast at the same time.

Take pride in your ride man. Its sweet. Will you make it back to NC for Okturbofest? Maybe it will correspond with the time for a checkup at Speedwerks?

Noice Linc!

Great to hear your trials / tribulations have *finally* been resolved and netted you such an impressive result. You deserve it. And regarding Andy, not only is he a stand up guy as you mention - he's also an incredibly cool dude. Completely unassuming, laid back, friendly, an all around great guy.

Agreed w/ Jacob - your tastes have executed quite the impressive product. Very well done sir.

Not to mention - you see Linc coming up in your mirror... DUCK/HIDE/RUN/COWER/PISSyerself! Dude's not right, *entirely* not right...

8-)!!!

Kidding aside (OK I wasn't kidding), Linc's the nicest guy you'll meet - very ahem laid back:

Time to put some miles on that gem there chief - get to it! Here's some last year WOT action of you leaving Zuffenhaus, just because:

YouTube - 930 / 934 / 935 depart Zuffenhaus

I really like that HP curve! It looks smooth and stable all the way to 6500. How do you like the character of the car with the GT2-Evo cam? It appear to be easy to drive at low RPM followed by ever increasing fury all the way to readline. From the curve I would expect very smooth power delivery.

It is too tame for me now, just kidding, it is wicked fast maybe Andy could post some videos. The weird thing is I am getting really good fuel economy however, when I did pull into a gas station a lot of people wanted to check it out and ask questions, I tried to be gracious as possible particularly in West-By-G*d Virginny. The car is really smooth, drivability is awesome with very linear power delivery everywhere, and the sound of the blow off valve is delightful especially when I pass someone and shift when alongside them, I always love to see the "oh ****" look on their faces.

Hey Linc,
Glad to hear the 930's back and running great.

I'll be down your way Wednesday. I'd be glad to take it for a spin. You know, to let these guys have a 3rd party, objective opinion on how it's running.

(yeah, I didn't think so but it was worth a shot. I'd still like a ride someday.)

Yikes!! This 930 makes enough torque at 3000 rpms to leave just about anything in the dust.
